A new policy memo at USDA states larger Farm Service Agency loans now will need approval from the Office of the Secretary and be cleared by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) before producers can receive the money. Based on a review of farm loans, at least $1.7 billion would need DOGE's sign-off.
